The ‘Muş Local Food Workshop’ event organised by the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services attracted great attention. The event was coordinated by the head of the department, Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Zikrullah Aykaç, head of the department; Head of Cookery Programme Lecturer. Lecturer. Hüsnü Kasar and executive chef Halit Uygur. In addition, invited instructors Gül Aykaç and Neslihan Erdoğan took part in the event and shared their knowledge and experience.
Within the scope of the workshop, local flavours of Muş were introduced and applied trainings were organised. Students were given detailed information about the preparation of local dishes such as Ayran Aşı with Güllük, Jağ, Pilaf with Güllük, Muş Meatballs and Stuffed Kelem with Kırçikli. During the event, students had the opportunity to learn the preparation of the dishes under the guidance of master chefs.
At the end of the event, the cooked dishes were tasted and served to the participants. Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican, Advisor to the Rector and Director of Vocational School of Social Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özalper, academic and administrative staff, guests and members of the local press of Muş attended the programme.
The event ended with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the trainers and participants by our Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican.
